TOURING CARAVAN
The 2007 Elddis Chiltington Sussex was a dealer-special edition created for the Sussex Caravan Centre. These models were designed to offer a higher-spec “bespoke” feel by adding premium features to the standard Elddis Avanté or Odyssey models they were based on.
The main upgrades typically found on the 2007 Sussex Special Edition range include:
Exterior & Structural Upgrades
- Unique Graphics: Exclusive “Sussex” branding and silver-toned exterior decals that set it apart from standard white models.
- Security & Safety: Often fitted with high-security snake-cut barrel locks and an AL-KO AKS 3004 stabiliser for better towing safety.
- Alloy Wheels: Upgraded from standard steel wheels for a more premium look.
- External Access Locker: Often included an exterior-access storage locker with an integrated 230v output socket, perfect for powering outdoor equipment.
Interior & Comfort Upgrades
- Premium Upholstery: Bespoke, higher-grade fabric and cushion designs exclusive to the Sussex range.
- Enhanced Lighting: Additional spotlights in the lounge and sometimes backlit mirrors or headboards.
- Kitchen Upgrades:
- Built-in Microwave: A 550w microwave was typically included as standard.
- Upgraded Oven: A Prima Mark3 oven and grill with a 3-burner hob.
- Bedding: Often featured upgraded mattresses (sometimes Hypnos brand in later years) and the “So Comfortable” domestic-quality pocket sprung mattress system.
- Fly Screens & Blinds: High-quality Horrex pleated blinds and full-door fly screens instead of basic roller versions.
Additional Special Edition Perks
- “Stargazer” Rooflight: A large Heki panoramic rooflight to provide more natural light.
- Motor Mover: Many original owners opted for the pre-fitted motor mover package often bundled with these special editions.
Since many of these units were custom-ordered, some might also have had a solar panel or external BBQ point added at the dealership
